| | City Planning Commission voices concerns about Riverfront Center | Planning commissioner, Jim Wonn presented a letter to the rest of the commission on May 7, as part of the Cashmere Planning meeting, suggesting they should encourage the city council organize a plan or method of keeping Riverfront Center's appearance maintained.
Wonn and his wife recently observed the conditions at Riverfront Center. The first problem he noticed was an outlet box that had apparently been tampered with, just hanging on the side of the wall.
"That electrical outlet hanging out there is the perfect level for some little kid to grab on to it," Wonn said.

For the second time, no one attended an informational meeting held last Thursday at the Riverside Center.
Maybe it is because no one has an opinion, or maybe the majority of the people are for the merge and have nothing to say.
For the past 100 years, the two irrigation districts have been working together in one way or another. Whether it was the Peshastin Irrigation District using the Icicle's canal dating back to 1917 or the two districts sharing a building and a manager, it seems the two entities have always been related.
"We are basically joined in every way except administratively and financially," said Tony Jantzer, Icicle/Peshastin secretary manager.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012 More... | | | May is motorcycle safety awareness month | Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month is a national initiative aimed at getting motorists and motorcyclists to "share the road" with each other. Motorcycles are vehicles with the same rights and privileges as any motor vehicle on the roadway.
"As the weather improves, more and more motorcyclists are hitting the roads," said Lieutenant Kandi Patrick. "And with that in mind, pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers of all vehicles, including SUVs, passenger cars and trucks, need to be extra attentive and make sure they 'share the road.' A motorcycle is one of the smallest vehicles on our roads, often hidden in a car or truck's blind spot. Every driver needs to aggressively look for them before changing lanes or merging with traffic."
