Second amendment truths
Dear Editor,
Instead of declaring what will not be allowed, why don't we say what will? All other weaponry to be used only by the "well regulated Militia necessary for the security of the United States of America."

In 1783-9 'Militia' meant a well regulated body of men under the leadership of such as Geo. Washington who succeeded in defeating the English whose Officers surrendered to him at York. Victory was won by patriots with firearms meant to provide food for their families, and defense of their persons; they are the men to whom "the right of the People is given to keep and bear arms; a right that shall not be infringed."

Individuals do not constitute a well regulated body, and so-called militias of today exist and operate subversively with the object of attacking, rather than protecting our free State. They use weaponry intended for war, not to provide food for their families from whom they isolate themselves periodically to participate in mock battles to prepare themselves to overthrow the established government. For what? If it is true that people rushed to buy assault weaponry fearing the government is going to take away their legitimate gun possessions, what are we to believe?

Persons who point fingers and threaten that any attempt to take guns from them will result in another 1783, this time against our own free nation of law abiding citizens, should be considered mentally unfit to own, let alone bear arms which might be used against innocent or responsible citizens.

One mass killing after another in which killers kill themselves, seems more like crazed persons using weapons of war to kill as many as they can before killing themselves, as in the Middle East, suggesting their love for and use of military weaponry is due to their anti-government paranoia.
