Kiwanis Fundraiser

Mill Bay Casino will pay Kiwanis $10.00 for everyone that comes. They also give you $10.00 to gamble with. What a deal. Don't miss this chance to help the children that Kiwanis works so hard to help! Let us know if you can go and how many friends you can get to go with you. We need at least 15. Veterans Day Assembly

Mac Bledsoe is coming to Cashmere for our Veterans Day assembly. We are planning something a little different for Veterans Day this year. Karin Blomquist along with Shelly Milne at the middle school, and Alicia Smith at Vale will bring to Cashmere an all-District Veterans Day assembly. It will feature a parade of Veterans, the Cashmere High School Band and K - 12 graders marching to celebrate our Veterans. We will start at the Vale Elementary and end at the high school. Mac will speak at the high school in Ron Doane Gymnasium. This assembly will also feature, the band, and choirs, performing patriotic music, and a lunch to follow for the Veterans. This will all take place on Friday, Nov 9. The gathering at the Vale starts at about 8:30 and Mac Bledsoe is speaking at 10:15 at the high school. For information contact Karin at 679-0859.


A Christmas Carol - Box office opens

Tickets are on sale starting Nov. 6 for Leavenworth Summer Theater's winter 2012 production of A Christmas Carol. The box office is open 4 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but voice mail may be left at any time. Tickets are $16 and $20. Infants and children under 5 are not admitted. There are no service charges on any individual ticket orders. Performances are December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15 at 8:00 p.m. and December 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the downtown FestHalle Theater. A Nutcracker Day in Leavenworth

The Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum is sponsoring A NUTCRACKER DAY IN LEAVENWORTH with a contest to create a unique way to crack a hazelnut--a simple task done in a complex or artistic way. This competiton will be held at the Festhalle in Leavenworth on July 6, 2013 and is open to amateurs of all ages. Cash prizes will be awarded in various age groups, with a grand prize of $1,000. Village Voices Concerts

Let's Go For a Sleigh Ride! Village Voices will be presenting their annual Christmas concerts at the Church of The Nazarene, 111 Ski Hill Drive on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 6; Friday, December 7; and Friday, December 14. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for the Sunday matinee concert on Dec. 2 will include a special rate of $28 for families and $12 general admission. Evening concerts are $14 for adults and $12 for students ages 5-18. Children five and older are most welcome. Light holiday tunes, classical Christmas favorites combined with the Leavenworth Christmas Brass, Bev Cagle's Kinderchor, cellist Sally Singer Tuttle, the Saddlerock Quartet, percussionist Steve Morton and other guest artists round out the concert series. Christkindlmarkt will be held outside at the City Park on Front Street and at the Leavenworth Festhalle, Nov. 23, 24 and 25 admission-free.Market Hours: Fri. 11 a.m. -7:30 p.m.; Sat. 10 a.m-7:30 p.m.; Sun 10 a.m-3 p.m. Come and enjoy this family event with continuous entertainment, delicious foods, shopping in vendor booths, and a craft workshop for children. Children will also have the opportunity to create their own lanterns and participate in the lantern parade along with the Christkind, Saint Nicholas, and Santa Claus. The parade will begin at 4:50 p.m. at the Leavenworth Festhalle. A celebration of the Enchantment Lakes

Enchantment Celebration Weekend Three Related Events: cairn history, cairn building, Enchantment potluck. Saturday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Barn. The event is open to anyone interested in celebrating the history of human pilgrimages to the Enchantment Lakes and the natural and artistic beauty of this treasure in North Central Washington. People attending should bring a finger-food snack or dessert to share. Those who have visited the Enchantments are encouraged to bring a favorite Enchantments photograph, preferably an 8x10 or similar size, not framed. Sheriff's Advisory Committee

The Chelan County Sheriff's Citizens Advisory Committee will be having it's "Town Hall Meeting" on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m at the Leavenworth PUD conference room. The Sheriff will be in attendance with members of his command staff and, if possible, the supervisor for the deputies in the area. Citizens who wish to speak with the Sheriff are encouraged to attend.

Mount Ranier fees

Mount Rainier National Park Superintendent Randy King announces that entrance fees into Mount Rainier National Park will be waived for all visitors to the park from Saturday, November 10, through Monday, November 12 in honor of U.S. Veterans and current members of the U.S. Armed Forces. (ER 45)

Genealogical Society

The Wenatchee Area Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 171 Eastmont Avenue, East Wenatchee.
