Leavenworth’s Village Voices
Leavenworth's Village Voices plan holiday shows

Submitted by Carolyn Giger

Leavenworth's Village Voices is beginning its winter season in November with appearances during Christkindlmarkt on Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30 in the Festhalle at 2:30 p.m. and in the Village gazebo at 4 p.m. both days. A strolling quartet will grace the streets during Christmas Lighting weekends. Our concert series entitled "Merry Swingin' Christmas" will offer a delightful repertoire of sacred and secular music designed to inspire and entertain.

All concert performances will be held at the Leavenworth Church of the Nazarene, 111 Ski Hill Drive. Evening concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5, Friday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 13. An afternoon performance will be given on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m.

Guest artists will again be part of each concert and will include the Leavenworth Bavarian Brass: Steve Morton on keyboard and percussion; and Leavenworth's own Kinderchor directed by Bev Cagel. Violinist Anna Dirkse will provide accompaniment as well as a musical selection. Leavenworth's Village Voices is directed by Larry Henderson and accompanied by pianist Jennifer Sidebottom.

Tickets for the performances can be purchased at the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce (548-5807), Dan's Market, and prior to concerts at the church. Call Carolyn Giger 548-0318 for additional information.

Evening ticket prices are $14 for adults and $12 for students (ages 5-18). The matinee on Sunday, Dec. 15 features a special family rate of $28 and $12 for general admission.

Plan to join us as we celebrate our 31st season as Leavenworth's Community Chorus. Concert goers will delight in sounds of the season from beginning to end.
