Cashmere grad is coach at Gonzaga
Former Cashmere High School student Jordan Green is living the dream, coaching the sport he loves at the school he loved as a child.

Green, a Class of 1997 graduate of CHS, is an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Gonzaga University in Spokane.

He was hired in April, capping what he called a long process that started after he graduated college at George Fox University with a degree in elementary education. First, he volunteered at Blaine High School where his brother was the girls' varsity coach. He went to a coaching clinic with his brother and decided he wanted to become a college coach.

After Blaine, he volunteered at Seattle University, where he knew the coach. Then he went for his master's degree at Idaho State, where he volunteered for the women's hoops team.

"That turned into a job," he said. "I stayed at ISU for eight years." After eight years, he moved to the University of Idaho, where he worked as an assistant coach for three years.
