The Cashmere girls soccer team once again proved they have the defense to stop their opponents from scoring after shutting out the Quincy Jacks on Nov. 3 in their first and last game of Bi-Districts. This win seals the Bi-District Championship title for the Bulldogs.

"We were able to come out on top with a 6-0 win," said Cashmere Head Coach, Dennis Tronson.

The first goal of the match came in the 10th minute as Lauren Johnson took a Tessa McCormick driven cross and drove in a header from 8-yards out.

The Bulldogs kept the ball away from their goal and after a few missed attempts Tianna Helm took a Dani Morseman header off the cross bar and laid a pass to Lupita Tejeda for a goal from the 6-yard box in the 29th minute.

During the 36th minute Helm made the third goal of the game as Johnson served the ball to her who knocked it in from just inside the penalty box.

Helm scored the final goal of the first half when she took a Johnson serve and was able to turn on a drive and shot the ball into the side netting from 22-yards out. The Bulldogs were up 4-0 at half.

"For the match the Bulldogs controlled the play, out shooting the Jacks 17 to 2. Zelia Zahir in goal had two saves in the match racking up her 11th shutout of the season," Tronson said.

The second half continued with the Bulldogs on the attack. The fifth goal came in the 54th minute off a controlled clearance from 25 yards by Morseman.

Freshman Kandace Brunner made the final goal of the match in the 79th minute when freshman Aidan Darlington served a perfect free kick to her.

Tronson said this match also saw a return to action for freshman Cassidy Boyd who had been out due to a head injury.

"I was pleased with our overall play and praised the effort that Quincy put forth in this match. The win gave the Bulldogs the number one seed from District 6/7 to the State Tournament," Tronson said.

The Cashmere girls soccer team opened up the State Tournament on Nov. 6 against Connell but results were unavailable at press time.

If the girls won on Nov. 6 they will move on to the State Quarterfinals where they will play the winner of the Naches vs. Cascade match. The quarterfinal match will be held on Nov. 10.
