This Dorothy comes from Cashmere, not Kansas

Grace Camp plays Dorothy in the upcoming Cascade All School production of the Wizard of Oz. The show features some unique twists, including Toto, which now being played by Julio, the five pound chihuahua.
In the new Cascade All District musical, the Wizard of Oz, there's a tornado, but this one emanates a little closer to home, in Cashmere rather than Kansas. It is one of the many new twists in the upcoming school production, which features kids from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

Cascade Head Drama Coach Mandi Wickline said her Assistant Director Ted Fredericks has been plugging for Wizard of Oz for a number of years. But Wickline had become tired of seeing the same show done over and over again, based on the classic movie.

"The only way I would do Wizard of Oz is if we did it totally different. We are modernizing everything. It is a complete rethinking of the show," Wickline said.

For one, Kansas is now Cashmere. And Toto is now a five pound chihuahua named Julio. The ruby slippers are now ruby color Converse sneakers. And Dorothy now lives in an orchard.
