Top String Bluegrass performs at Cashmere Community Concerts

Bluegrass quartet Top Strings will perform Nov. 15 at Riverside Center.
Brighten up your November at Cashmere Community Concerts, Saturday, Nov. 15, 7:30 p.m., with Top String Bluegrass. This recently formed regional family band of young and accomplished pickers and singers is ambitious and holds high expectations for putting on the best show possible.

Wenatchee Valley Environmental Film Series
Sgt. Adam Burke made a promise to God while bleeding out from a mortar wound in Iraq. Adam promised if he saw his family again, he would do something to make his life worth saving. He kept that promise.

Burke's journey of recovery is featured in the Nov. 18 Wenatchee Valley Environmental Film Series presentation of Ground Operations: Battlefields to Farmfields. The 40-minute film sponsored by the Washington Sustainable Food & Farming Network offers a solution to the daunting challenge veterans face as they transition back to civilian life.

Mythical creatures find a home in Cashmere
As if the scarecrows weren't enough, now another bunch of characters have begun making themselves at home in Cashmere.

If you haven't seen them, don't worry, they kind of specialize in going unnoticed. Still, you best believe they are there, or at least, their homes are.

Certain corners, nooks and crannies of our town have begun sporting tiny storefronts and homes. Our unparalleled thirst for all things weird led us to a Cashmere Rotary meeting where gnome connoisseur Jenny Cravens expounded on the topic.

'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe'
Mackenzie Hemstrom during a scene of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, which played this weekend at Cashmere Middle School. The CHS Drama Program will put on the musical Guys and Dolls at the end of January and the beginning of February. In other art news, the first Sunday in November is the last day of the season for the Cashmere Museum. Admission will be free that day to all Cashmere residents.
