Cashmere Community Concerts to feature Dumas, Luquette & Knapp Trio

Posted

CASHMERE Cashmere Community Concerts will present the Dumas, Luquette & Knapp Trio at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Cashmere Community Church, 213 S. Division St.

The Pacific Northwest-based trio is known for its energetic, spirited and technically masterful approach to bluegrass. Each member brings extensive experience performing nationally and internationally, combining precision musicianship with deep roots in the genre.

Nick Dumas leads the group on mandolin and vocals. A former member of the Grammy-nominated band Special Consensus and a three-time International Bluegrass Music Association award winner, Dumas has performed across the globe and recently released his solo album, Details, on Nashville’s Skyline Records. Originally from Washington state, he co-founded the bands Northern Departure and North Country Bluegrass before relocating to Wisconsin.

Joining him is guitarist and vocalist Chris Luquette, a multi-instrumentalist who spent 11 years with the acclaimed Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen. Luquette has performed alongside artists including Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris and The Steep Canyon Rangers. His style draws from both traditional bluegrass and global musical influences. A Seattle native, he now resides in New York City. Luquette also co-founded Northern Departure with Dumas.

Bassist and vocalist Andrew Knapp rounds out the trio. A classically trained jazz musician and one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier bassists, Knapp has performed with nationally recognized artists such as Kenny Garrett and Terence Blanchard, toured internationally, and worked as a performer for Carnival Cruise Lines. He also plays with the Seattle-based bluegrass band The Warren G. Hardings and with Nick Dumas & Branchline.

Cashmere Community Concerts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing live, affordable, high-quality entertainment to the Wenatchee Valley. Admission is $5 at the door, with an additional “hat pass” donation of $8 to $15 suggested to support the musicians. Refreshments will be provided.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concert is alcohol-free and offers concert seating.
