Chelan County seeks public input for first motorized trails plan

Posted

WENATCHEE — Chelan County Natural Resources is seeking input from motorized recreational trail users as it develops the county's first motorized trails plan.

The department has launched a survey targeting users of e-bikes, trail bikes, motorcycles, ATVs, four-wheel drive vehicles, and snowmobiles. The plan could potentially connect and extend motorized trails with Kittitas and Okanogan counties and coordinate with nonmotorized trail users.

The survey, open until November 15, takes about 10 minutes to complete. It asks participants about their current use of motorized trails in the planning areas and what issues they would like addressed in a motorized trail planning effort. Users are also asked to rate the current features of local motorized trails and provide information about their personal experiences.

The survey, available online at https://ncw.social/2p837z2u, offers participants the chance to enter a drawing for a $250 gift card upon completion.

In addition to the online survey, the county has scheduled a public workshop. The Chelan County Motorized Trails Plan Workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. on October 30, at Confluence Technology Center, 285 Technology Center Way in Wenatchee. As stated in the announcement, "Participants will take an active role, sharing their thoughts on existing trails, future facilities and more."

The survey initiative and workshop are part of Chelan County's efforts to gather public input for drafting the Chelan County Motorized Trails Plan.
