WENATCHEE – In the wake of a heartbreaking discovery, the community-at-large has rallied to support Whitney Decker, the mother of three missing daughters who were recently found deceased near Rock Island campground in Leavenworth.
Three sisters – Olivia, Evelyn, and Paityn Decker – were originally reported missing after their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, failed to bring them home following a parental visitation on May 30.
On June 2, search teams found Travis Decker’s truck unoccupied approximately 17 miles up Icicle Road, with all three children deceased nearby. Law enforcement is still searching for the father, who is wanted for three counts 1st degree murder and 1st degree kidnapping.
The fundraising effort, originally created to help Whitney Decker with search and legal expenses, has been expanded to “cover final expenses, support time off from work, and give her space to heal without financial pressure.” At the time of this writing, the fundraiser raised over $270,050 from 4,400 donations, and continues to grow by the minute.
“These girls were true light in this world and and [sic] it is a darker place without them. I will miss seeing their sweet little faces,” organizer Amy Edwards wrote in a GoFundMe update. “I am upping the goal amount of this fundraiser so Whitney can take time off, care for herself and cover the final expenses of the girls without taking a financial hit.”
