CHELAN COUNTY — Preliminary results from the Aug. 4 Primary show incumbent Chelan County Sheriff in commanding lead over challenging deputy Stan Langlow, though both will advance to the November election.

Morrison dominates early counts with over 75 percent of the vote (10,830). Langlow trails behind with 24 percent (3,458 votes). There were over 100 write-ins.

“I am humbled by tonight's initial results, and I thank the citizens of Chelan County for their confidence and support. While this is an encouraging start I know there is still a campaign ahead and important work to be done before the general election,” Morrison told Ward Media.

The sheriff added that his focus remains unchanged:

“Serving the people of Chelan County, protecting the quality of life we've come to expect, and leading the Sheriff's Office with professionalism, accountability, and integrity. This is the citizens' office, and it is a privilege to serve as their Sheriff. I look forward to continuing to earn their trust through service and results.”

Langlow was unable to provide immediate comment while on duty Tuesday night. Ward Media will update this story if a statement is received.
