New owner carries on legacy at Cashmere Mailing House

CASHMERE — Cashmere Mailing House is entering a new chapter this year under new ownership, but with a familiar face at the helm.

As of Jan. 1, Krista Davis has taken over ownership of Cashmere Mailing House following the retirement of longtime manager Jayne Stephenson, who built the business into a trusted regional resource for bulk and First-Class mail marketing across North Central Washington.

Davis is not new to the operation. She spent the past two years working at the business as part of a planned succession, learning the day-to-day logistics of running a mailing house before stepping into ownership. Her background includes 19 years in retail and retail management, along with five years of bookkeeping and office management experience.

“Jayne built the Cashmere Mailing House reputation from the ground up,” Davis said in a statement. “I look forward to building on the legacy she established and continuing to exceed customer needs across the region.”

Located in Cashmere’s Mission District, Cashmere Mailing House provides mailing preparation and bulk postage services for businesses, nonprofits and agencies throughout the valley, offering free local pickup and drop-off service to make large mail campaigns easier and more affordable. According to the business, the company saved its clients more than $463,000 in postage costs last year alone.

For many organizations, the company works quietly behind the scenes to make newsletters, fundraising appeals, event notices and marketing mailers possible at a lower cost than if they were handled in-house.

Stephenson, who continues to serve on the Cashmere City Council, has long been known as an ambassador for the community as well as for the business. Davis said the transition is intended to be seamless for customers while honoring the reputation Stephenson established.

The focus moving forward, Davis said, is maintaining that level of service while preparing the business for continued growth and innovation.
