WSU Extension opens applications for 2025 Master Gardener training

WENATCHEE — The Washington State University Extension Chelan-Douglas Master Gardener Program is accepting applications for its 2025 basic training course, beginning in January.

The program combines online learning modules through Washington State University with weekly in-person classes. The curriculum covers botany, plant identification, soil science, entomology, lawns and herbaceous landscape plants, plant health care, integrated pest management, and plant diagnosis.

Classes run every Friday from January 17 to April 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Douglas County Transportation & Land Services building in East Wenatchee.

The training costs $185, with an application deadline of October 15. Participants who complete the course and fulfill internship requirements receive certified WSU Master Gardener status.

The volunteer group promotes environmentally responsible gardening practices and healthy living through gardening.
