Cashmere Royalty to represent town locally, statewide

Posted

CASHMERE – Members of the Cashmere Royalty will be on hand to help celebrate Cashmere’s Founders’ Days on Saturday, June 29.

The 2024 members of the Cashmere Royal Court are Queen Kimberly Strong, Princess Emory Smith, and Princess Brianna Castro.

The Cashmere Royal Court is a longstanding tradition of Cashmere's Founders’ Days.

The three young women will serve as Cashmere ambassadors throughout the state and appear at local festivals and parades throughout the summer.

Recently, the royal court posed for professional photos by photographer Photos by Drucille (Drucille Romero).

Hair stylist for the photo shoot was Erika Piña and makeup was by Makeup Artist Beauty by Rebecca (Rebecca Allen).

Photos were taken at the Cashmere Museum and Pioneer Village.

Why did you decide to run for Cashmere Royalty?

I decided to run for Cashmere Royalty because I believe it's a great way to connect on a higher level with the Cashmere Community I have grown up in.

Tell us about your extracurricular activities and volunteer work in the community.

This past school year I have been involved in cross country, the winter musical, National Honors Society, and FCCLA. Some volunteer work that I have done is during Cashmere athletic events, helping the church, cleaning up the local cemetery, and more.

What are your plans for work or education after graduation?

After graduating Cashmere High School I plan to go to a four-year university.

What do you think makes Cashmere special?

What makes Cashmere special is our strong community, its natural beauty, and our local traditions.

Why did you decide to run for Cashmere Royalty?

I’ve grown up in Cashmere my whole life, and I participated in multiple royalty camps in elementary school. These camps inspired me to want to represent my town, which has given me so many amazing opportunities and support!

Tell us about your extracurricular activities and volunteer work in the community.

I had the honor of being elected as Vice President of the National Honors Society, and I’m super excited to work with the other officers to plan community service activities for our chapter. I also have the incredible opportunity to attend FFA Nationals to represent Cashmere FFA in the Milk Quality and Products competition which I am absolutely thrilled for. As a part of the CHS Nuestra Comunidad club I have assisted with the cleaning of places around our community.

What are your plans for work or education after graduation?

After I graduate from high school, I plan to get my AA degree and then explore a variety of professions before acquiring my bachelor's degree in a work field that truly interests me. Some fields I have considered are Cosmetology and Physical Therapy.

What do you think makes Cashmere special?

Growing up in Cashmere, I have always loved how the community is super close with one another and how there is an incredible amount of support which I think makes Cashmere really special.

Why did you decide to run for Cashmere Royalty?

I decided to run for Cashmere Royalty because I was always drawn to the princesses and queens when I was younger. I was that little girl on the sidewalk who stood there in awe as they drove past.

Tell us about your extracurricular activities and volunteer work in the community.

I am a cashmere cheerleader currently. However, I played volleyball and danced for most of my life. I love to help out with track meets, mostly middle school meets, because I feel that it’s those kids who need the sport the most. So I like to give the program a little extra support.

What are your plans for work or education after graduation?

I plan on attending a four year college to study business and interior design. Once I graduate I will come back to Cashmere and purchase SmithBuilt Homes from my parents. Then I will design and build houses with my mother.

What do you think makes Cashmere special?

Cashmere is so special because of the people. Every Friday night the stands are full, even community members who don’t have a player still love to come and support, every volleyball game, soccer game, basketball game is full of people cheering on our players making us feel so loved. It’s something you will not find anywhere else.
