CHELAN COUNTY — Preliminary results from the Nov. 3 General Election show incumbent Mike Morrison with a near 60-percentage-point lead over deputy Stan Langlow for the Chelan County sheriff’s race.

As of 8:33 p.m. Tuesday, Morrison holds 79.17% of the vote (18,546 votes), compared with Langlow’s 20.09% (4,707 votes).

Initial results follow the Aug. 4 primary, where Morrison dominated with over 75% of the vote, receiving 16,168 votes compared to Langlow’s 5,123.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Morrison began his career with the Omak Police Department in 2006, then joined Chelan County Sheriff’s Office in 2014. He was elected Chelan County Sheriff in November 2022.

“I’m happy about the results and certainly wish the best for my opponent and his family,” Morrison told Ward Media.

Morrison said he was grateful for continued voter support and was looking forward to continuing to serve the county alongside Langlow.

“While it was not the result we were looking for, I am extremely thankful for those that supported this campaign. Congratulations to Sheriff Morrison on his re-election. I look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Chelan County,” Langlow told Ward Media.

Langlow has 10 years of experience as a commissioned law enforcement officer in the state and is a current patrol deputy for Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, according to his biography.

Ballots are still being tallied. The next updated count is expected 5 p.m. Wednesday.
